Recalibrate

Beavers are living on the highland boundary fault. Through beaver as the lens, it is found that beavers generally live on the River Tay and tend to migrate south.

After researching the entire River Tay, zoom in on the city of Perth. The research and site survey found that the design site has problems such as flooding, pollution, and soil erosion. It also shows the opportunities and challenges that the future urban development in the north of the tributary will bring to the site.

At the same time, the relationship with other watersheds within the catchment area is shown. In addition, there are clear signs of beaver activity at the site, and improving the river environment to accommodate beavers is critical to mitigating potential threats to human living conditions.

In my 100-year master plan, I have incorporated the riverside path while making necessary adjustments to account for the flooded areas of the site. Additionally, I have prioritized protecting and restoring beaver habitats by constructing beaver dam mimics and planting attractive trees for beavers. This helps the beavers and provides flood resistance, aids in their migration, and creates a habitat for other species.

The placement of the trees is strategically planned to enhance the line-of-sight relationship for better observation of animals and plants. The area is designed to provide a space for education and entertainment for people, allowing them to have a better experience while observing the surrounding wildlife.
