Project description

'Mysterious Ruins' is an archaeological site unearthed in the 26th century, where mysterious messages from the 15th to the 21st centuries have been discovered, which have been identified as the origin of some of the surviving superstitions of the 26th century. In truth, every inexplicable superstition has an origin story, but time has erased these truths. Based on this concept, the project can also be interpreted as a prediction of the consequences of modern human lifestyle.

Background

Behind every superstition that is not understood by people, there is an origin story. It's just that time has erased these truths. For example, the superstition that breaking a mirror brings seven years of bad luck originated in the 16th century when mirrors were very expensive. If someone broke a mirror, they would need to work for several years to pay for the compensation. When these specific historical conditions no longer exist, this information gradually turns into superstition, which cannot be understood by people.

So, can the most common behavioral habits and lifestyles of modern life in the 21st century become new superstitions in the future, hundreds of years from now?

Modern Superstitions

I attempted to turn some of the unhealthy lifestyle habits of modern people into new superstitions of 26th century, and created a complete process for the formation of these beliefs. These fabricated superstitions can also be seen as a form of future prediction by reflecting on the possible consequences of people's unhealthy habits, with the hope of sparking some thoughts.
