Hairy Witches Zine

A short zine scratching the surface of European witchcraft history, specifically looking at different types of witches from three time periods. These examples also look at some of the ways hair has been associated with magic and transformation in different ways.

Fisher Lassies Jumper

A textile project celebrating the women of fishing communities and highlighting the important roles they had through history. My research for the project was drawn from online resources, the Eyemouth museum and trips to harbour towns like Oban, Tobermory, Eyemouth and St. Abbs. The design was made digitally, printed onto cotton fabric and then sewn onto a knitted jumper.

A poster design a pomegranate cut in two halves, with small branches curving out from behind them, pink flowers blossoming from their buds. The background of the poster is a speckle textured dark purple and the pomegranate is a rich red, contrasting the dark green leaves on the brown branches.

A novel cover design for Katherine Clements' book The Coffin Path. The image shows the full spread of the cover, with the blurb on the left and front design on the right. The mood of the design attempts to convey the suspenseful and ghostly story of the book

'The Coffin Path' Cover Design

A mock book cover design for Katherine Clements's novel, 'The Coffin Path'. The story of the book ties in with a few of my other project's themes relating to women's history, and I personally enjoyed reading it just before beginning fourth year, so I thought it would be fitting to turn it into a project. It also allowed me to gain some insight into what creating a book cover might be like in my career moving forward.
