Manifesto

The design project aims to address the growing mental health of students at ECA by creating a wellness centre. The design emphasizes the use of curved walls to create an inviting, calming atmosphere, enhance privacy, and allow direct movement within the space. The purpose of these  elements is to foster emotional expression and reduce anxiety by creating a non-threatening environment. In spaces like the consulting room, lighting and color are carefully considered, with eco-friendly wood floors, translucent paint,  and clever use of natural light to create a warm, cozy atmosphere. The design builds on my education at ECA and aims to enhance student wellbeing through well-designed spaces.

Design concept

Arcs' inherent curves provide movement and flow in a room. Arc walls soften the surroundings, making it more appealing. In a psychological counselling centre, this helps soothe and relax clients.

Psychological Counselling Centres should encourage open communication and emotion. Arched walls add privacy to counselling rooms. Curved walls can help customers feel protected and express their feelings.

Counselling may make some clients nervous. By reducing sharp edges and abrupt lines, arc walls may help create a non-threatening environment. to a client's comfort during counselling.

Circulation and Motion: Arc walls control area circulation. Curved walls can naturally connect the reception area to the counselling rooms. This flow can alleviate customers' confusion and encourage harmony in the facility.

Arc walls may provide the Psychological Counselling Centre with a unique look and feel. Curved walls make the centre stand out to clients. Helps the centre stand out to customers and the community.
