A ruin, overgrown, seems at times as one with the landscape, non-distinguishable in how western culture separate human from rock, tree, plant, fungi and the elements. In my artistic practice, I play with a symbioses between those aspects.
I create an ambiguous and twisted reality in a playful way. My sculptures are usually made from clay or textiles until it feels like they have become their own entity. Artefacts that then become part of a narrative.
Interwoven in these works are echoes of history in search for a contemporary folklore. The experience and sensory impressions in daily life I like to elevate from routine to ritual. To have an encounter with art and the magical as an everyday occurrence, like the wearing of a sacred object in one’s pocket.
