This is the second issue of SEASONS. ISSUE 2 is a 140 page lifestyle and editorial magazine.
In ISSUE 1, which will also be on display at the grad show, all the photography, design and writing was produced by me. Everything seen in ISSUE 1 was made by me. In ISSUE 2, I wanted the magazine to be more collaborative. While I was still the primary photographer, designer and writer, I gave out sections to other creators. In ISSUE 2, you will find short stories, essays, artworks and designs by other talented creators across Edinburgh.
The last total eclipse in the UK was in 1999 and we will not see another one until 2025. A phenomenon for some, but an all too familiar reality for those in Scotland. Waiting around for the sun to reappear is not something that those in Scotland can afford to do. Scotland has learnt to thrive and cultivate her craft in a period where others begin to rest. ISSUE 2 looks to highlight those blossoming in the darkness and illuminate those who are yet to be given the chance.
SEASONS refers to the magazine’s origin. Formed in Edinburgh, Scotland has the reputation for being cold, wet, and miserable all year round. Whilst some would say this is true, this misguided thinking is what SEASONS wishes to explore. To give voice to misconception and leave no story untold. The weather may seem to be monotonous and people’s lives may seem to stay the same, but the live’s lived during each season are always changing.
