Bio

Clark’s manifesto for her artistic practice takes the viewer on a journey through the history, conflict, and resolution of queer voices. Creating a contemporary practice out of pedagogical techniques helps bring social impact to the forefront of her work. Queer artists face multifaceted issues and therefore require multi-disciplinary responses.

Art is an act of protest; it reconstructs real stories into education, opens dialogue, and is a guide to model behaviour for an intersectional path. “Through the artistic process, imagination, modelled behaviour, and human connection, art can have transformative powers” (2003, Lauren Christine Phillips).
