The Badlands (Film projection, hay)

A looming tower stands out amongst disparate shots of silhouettes and vignettes. This short, abstract film of grassy landscapes in black and white conjures feelings of paranoia and loneliness. But more than this, the haziness of the work instils a sense of shrouded intimacy, making this monochrome film a vehicle which transports the viewer from solitude to a tentative camaraderie. To a desire to find respite from negative emotions in other people, despite their questionable nature.
