Bold colour, graphic lines and architectural forms create a body of work which explores the theatrical dynamics of space. Shifts in perspective, detail and colour transform logical motifs. In most works, geometric spatial configurations defy sense. The clean lines and simplicity induce an illusion of order, yet simultaneously instigate confusion. Geometric patterns incorporate symmetry and repetition, which invoke feelings of orderliness, formality and accuracy. This is paired with evasive vanishing points, conflicting angular shadows which punctuate spaces, and unfeasible architectural devices hinting at what lies beyond. The result is a visual and psychological dynamic which creates a tension between reality and abstraction, where aesthetics might overpower truth or logic in a space.
