Lara Egan is an artist based between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Her work takes a dive into the unconscious mind and explores themes of dissociation and detachment from the self with reference to historic and contemporary psychology of the mind. This is explored through intuitive abstract layered oil paint on canvas and occasionally mixed media. Mostly working on a large scale, but also creating smaller work. Her paintings are a window into the darker part of the self, using monochromatic colours that attract the eye to take a closer look at what is going on beneath the surface.
