Edina is a titling typeface designed for large-scale applications. Inspired by the intricate typographic engravings found on Edinburgh's historic architecture, Edina provides designers with a contemporary encapsulation of typographic conventions found throughout Edinburgh. Synthesising Roman, Gothic and Uncial typographic standards into an eclectic amalgamation, with bold strokes, Edina provides the modern designer with a tool to execute a touch of medieval charm. Edina is designed to work best when set as a title or used as a display face. At these sizes its characteristics such as rigorous cap height with a handful of ascenders and descenders as well as its more subtle traits such as a subtle vertical stressing as best exemplified. With Edina, a piece of Edinburgh's typographic history has been conserved in a contemporary and sensitive way.
